Comfortable victory
PA Napier Bay of Plenty regained the U-bix Cup, symbol of New Zealand minor cricket association supremacy, with a comfortable first innings win over the holder, Hawke’s Bay, at Napier yesterday. Bay of Plenty scored 374 for five declared in its innings on Saturday and
much of Sunday and dismissed Hawke’s Bay, which lifted the cup from Bay of Plenty at Rotorua three weeks ago, for only 284.
It was a repeat of last season when Bay of Plenty won the cup from a disappointing Hawke’s Bay side on the same Nelson Park wicket.
