Police promotion
PA Wellington The director of drug enforcement and intelligence at Police National Headquarters, superintendent Dick Macdonald, has been appointed officer in charge of management audit in Wellington. He has also moved to the rank of chief superintendent. His new position will include evaluating police units, operations and programmes and developing management auditing.
pointed to second in charge of the city division C. 1.8. in Auckland in 1978, six months after his promotion to detective inspector. Before that he worked for Christchurch and Dunedin C. 1.85. He joined the police as a cadet in 1957 after attending Auckland Grammer School. He worked for three years in the uniform branch at Wellington before transferring, to the C. 1.8.
