Obituary Mr Joseph Mercer
Joseph Ambrose Mercer, who died in Christchurch earlier this week, was life
member of the Canterbury Rugby League schoolboy administration. - Mr Mercer was elected a life member in 1966 in recognition of long service to the schoolboy board of control. The board’s chairman in 1960 and 1961, Mr Mercer then served as president until 1965, and became the schoolboy organisation’s patron between 1970 and 1975. Mr Mercer was also a past president of the Marist-West-ern Suburbs club.
