Reagan at a loss
NZPA-Reuter New York President Ronald Reagan’s legal adviser has said Mr Reagan could not recall when he approved
a 1985 arms sale to Iran, the “New York Times”
said yesterday. , “We were trying to stimulate his (Mr Reagan’s) recollection and he had no recollection, although he remembered being
surprised about something,” Mr Peter Wallison was quoted as saying in an interview with the newspaper. Mr Wallison, who is resigning today, said Ad-
miral John Poindexter, then head of the National Security Council, kept him from probing the scandal for weeks after it was first made public last November.
