Man jailed for rape of agency escort
PA Hamilton The rape of an agency escort who “sold her body” was a very different case from a woman who did not want to have sex at all, Mr Justice Holland said in the High Court at Hamilton. “Even a woman who is willing to sell her body for sex is entitled to the protection of the law,” his honour said. But the fact that she was “in the business” was material and very relevant, he said.
Villicky Clarke, aged 27, a miner, of Huntly, who had earlier pleaded guilty in the District Court at Hamilton, was sentenced to 18 months jail
on one count each of abduction and rape and, concurrently, six months jail for using a firearm while committing a crime.
The prosecutor, Mr C. Q. M. Almao, said Clarke telephoned the escort agency on January 5 and asked for a girl to call at his home.
When she arrived they had a cup of coffee then went to the bedroom where the price of sex was discussed, Mr Almao said.
Clarke disputed the amount then pushed the woman on the bed and twice had sex with her while holding a rifle at her head, he said.
Clarke then took a gas operated pistol from her handbag and forced her to leave the house and drive him away from Huntly.
The woman was made to lie across the bonnet of the car and Clarke had sexual intercourse again, he said.
Clarke told her not to go to the police, he took her air pistol and she dropped him off at his house. The woman then called the police. Mr Almao said Clarke told the police the price was far too much and he would not pay as he did not know if he was going to get his money’s worth.
