Retirement
Mr Jack Kirkland-Smith, the chairman and managing director of Crystal Glass Industries, Ltd, for the last 26 years, is to retire as managing director on March 31. He will be replaced by the present general manager (who is also his son) Mr Jim Kirk-land-Smith. Mr Jack Kirk-land-Smith will remain as chairman. Astec sale Astec Corporation has announced the sale of the instrument and control part of their business, formerly known as Transformer Winders, to Auckland Transformer Company, Ltd. The sale includes the lamination production unit The production facility will be gradually transferred from ASTEC Switchgear’s Henderson site, to the Penrose factory of Auckland Transformers over the next four to five weeks.
