Intersection layout approved
A revised design layout of the Blenheim RoadClarence Street intersection was approved by the Riccarton Borough Council works committee yesterday. The new layout adds a lane to each side of Clarence Street
The original intersection design was approved in June, 1985, but has been altered because of new information on traffic patterns.
The Borough Engineer, Mr Peter Nichols, said a traffic survey had found the level of turning traffic to be higher than previously estimated and the effect of the early implementation of the Whiteleigh Avenue extension would also increase flow sooner than thought A full report and plan of the intersection will be presented at the April committee meeting before the council proceeds to the next stage of calling tenders.
