Emergency to be lifted
PA Wellington The Civil Defence emergency in Edgecumbe is expected to be lifted today, said the Minister of Civil Defence, Mr Tapsell, last evening. The Cabinet has formed a special officials committee to co-ordinate Government involvement in earthquake recovery work. The committee would include the disaster coordinator, Mr Muir Coop. It would report directly to the Cabinet, Mr Tapsell said.
