Lendl to face Mecir
NZPA-Reuter Key Biscayne The defending champion and top seed, Ivan Lendl, wrapped up a 3-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-3 win over the sixth seed, Jimmy Connors, yesterday to advance to the final of the $l.B million International Players’ Tennis Championship. Lendl will face the ‘ninth seed, Miloslav Me-
cir, of Czechoslovakia, who advanced when the fourth seed, Yannick Noah, of France, retired from their semi-final because of a shoulder injury sustained earlier in the week. Mecir led 7-5, 5-1 when Noah withdrew. In the women’s final, Steffi Graf, of West Germany, beat Chris Evert Lloyd, of the United. States, 6-1, 6-2.
