Fox breaks out in song
The “Family Ties” star, Michael J. Fox, has just added song-writing to his already impressive array of talents. In the movie “Light of Day,” which is soon to go on release in the United States, Fox plays a bluecollar rock-and-roll singer/guitarist named Joe Rasnick. “There’s a moment in the script where Joe actually writes a song,” says Fox. “I asked if I could take a crack at it — and my song ended up in the film.”
“Then they said they’d like to use it on the sound track. I just assumed they’d get somebody terrific like James Taylor to sing it. But they said, ‘No, we want you to sing it.’ It was an amazing experience.” “Family Ties” screens tonight at 8.00 on Two.
