Redundancy row over
Redundancies in a Christchurch Government department caused a row this week.
Six positions will be dropped according to the regional secretary of the Public Service Association, Mr John McKenzie.
He said employees had provided a list of six people willing and able to
go for various reasons. However, the management had wanted six different people made redundant. The P.S.A. and the Statistics Department began negotiations last week. Mr McKenzie said that everything had been “satisfactorily resolved” this week
