Deaths of victims of road accidents

A motor-cyclist died after being in collision witb a goods train at the Sturrocks • Road levelcrossing in Redwood on Tuesday evening. He was Brendon Nicholas Dewe, aged 16, of Bishopdale. The police said that the crossing’s flashing lights were working and the locomotive sounded its horn before the collision. The crossing had no barrier across it.

A woman seriously injured when her car left the highway near the Serpentine Hill, south of Kumara Junction, on Sunday, has died in the Grey Hospital. She was Michelle Angela Williams, aged 25, of Franz Josef.

Ms Williams was driving to Christchurch when the car left the road and ended up in a ditch. She was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
