Star King wins Cup

Special correspondent Greymouth Star King followed up his first night second with an impressive win in the Lion Brown Greymouth - Cup,- first leg of the T.A.B. double at Greymouth last evening. Jim Curtin had the Main Star four-year-old in, or near, the lead all the way and he stayed on

gamely to win by a length from Art Mac Faber. Art Mac Faber produced another solid performance to run second while Oh Douglas, after being wide much of the way, ran on strongly for third. The win, along with an earlier success behind Bonny Step, provided Curtin with a $4OO-plus bonus in a driving competition held during the West.

Coast trotting meetings this year. I Micro Mary led all the way to win the second leg, the Griffen and Smith ; Pace. Although she was disappointing on the first night, Micro Mary stayed on well last evening to win from Polita, which followed her all the way. Golden Princess, which in turn had followed Polita, . battled on well for third.
