Noel Shinn to drive Eastern Romance
The Victorian horseman Noel Shinn will arrive in Christchurch tomorrow to handle trotter Eastern Romance in the first round of the InterDominion championships at Addington. Shinn, who trains a big team at Kilmore, is a son-in-law of Eastern Romance’s trainer, Neal Evans, who was in Christchurch in 1979 with Mighty Miller and also in Auckland for the 1983
series, again with Mighty Miller. Evans said Shinn had been Eastern Romance’s regular driver and “deserved a trip away.” “He’ll only stay for the first week and I’ll take over when we start in the trotters free-for-all on the last night “Noel’s got a big team' over home and he’s got to be fair to his other owners,” Evans said.
