Good demand for one-year ewes

One-year ewes sold quite freely compared with better quality breeding ewes at the Addington market yesterday. The yarding of more than 14,000 adult sheep contained many lines of either light or one-year ewes which attracted steady support. Most of these ewes sold between $8 and $l2 while better quality breeding ewes made $l6 to $2O. Three mobs of annual draft Romneys from Banks Peninsula made $19.60 to $20.20 and good Corriedales sold round $l6. Good ewes with slightly lower mouths generally made $l4 to $lB. In the two-tooth section, attractive Corriedales fetched $22 to $26, but most of the remaining two-tooths made $l6 to $2O. . The top end of the store lamb market lacked the buoyancy of last week’s sale and prices for these lambs eased about $1 a head. Medium and light lambs, however, were In stronger demand which forced the price to rise about $l. Good lambs regularly made $lB to $2O, with occasional
