Tourplan Pacific broaden horizons

A year ago Tourplan Pacific was primarily an inbound tour operator, catering for special interest and incentive tours of New Zealand and the Pacific. Since then its North American, and Japanese markets have expanded and a new office has been established in Australia to capitalise on the tourism growth opportunities In the South Pacific. Further capital will result from restructuring Tourplan into a public unlisted company with a holding company — Tourcorp Holdings, Ltd, and three subsidiaries. Christchurch Punting Company and Garden City Cycles, plus new investment projects; Tourplan Pacific, Ltd, will continue the traditional role as inbound tour operator; Tourism Consultants will act as the advisory arm to intending and existing operators and assist in identifying new investment opportunities. The new company’s authorised capital will be $5 million and issued capital will probably be $1.5 million, although this is to be confirmed. Shares will be placed privately and staff will be offered some of the issue. A public listing is likely to be sought in two or three years.
