Holmdale will be ‘ferry’ for film
The 911-tonne Chatham Islands trader Holmdale win be an inter-island ferry of the 1930 s on Friday and Saturday during filming of sequences for the film “Starlight HoteL” The Holmdale will be the Lyttelton-to-Wellington interisland ferry, on which the hero of the film stows away, for the two days. The film tells the story of a young girl who runs away from her Otago home to try to find her father who has gone to Wellington looking for work. The sequences will be filmed on No. 3 wharf and also around wharves numbers 6 and 7. The old ferry terminal will be used as the wardrobe and make-up rooms.
