Two years relevant post-basic experience is desired, and one year is essential. The appointee will be required to administer patient services, supervise nursing practice and provide educational opportunities on the Job for staff in this 6 cot level 2 neo-natal intensive care unit. This is a senior post and proven leadership skill is essential. Formal management training is not essential but an appointee without such training will be required to undertake relevant courses and should have or be working towards a Diploma of Nursing or similar qualification within 1 year of appointment. MEDICAL NURSING SUPERVISOR NORTHLAND BASE HOSPITAL AN EXPERIENCED EXPERT clinician who has proven leadership skill is required to supervise clinical nursing services and provide administrative support in the Medical Wards; Paediatric Ward, E.E.N.T. Unit and the Coronary Care Unit. The Northland Base Hospital has 378 beds including the Obstetric Unit. A comprehensive general service is provided with some specialisation. The Hospital is the major institution of the Northland Area Health Board and provides a base service for Northland. The successful appointee will have the opportunity of developing a system of Nursing congruent with the Area Health Board concept. A post-basic diploma or degree is preferred, applicants without such must be able to demonstrate significant progress towards achieving such a qualification.
