PA New Plymouth New Zealand’s top runner over a mile, John Walker, will run in the anniversary Devon mile in New Plymouth on March 9. Walker, who was the first man to break 3min
50s for the mile, will be making his first appearance in Taranaki. The Aucklander is regarded by many as the country’s most outstanding athlete. He was among the top six in the world over a mile and 1500 m for almost 10 years.
