Elders boost
PA Wellington Elders Pastoral has strengthened its rural interest in Taranaki by acquiring the stock and station business of FCOS, Ltd.
Announcing the move, the Elders Pastoral general manager for marketing, Mr Sholto Matthews, said it would allow the company to come close to its planned expansion strategy into the New Zealand stock and station market as a national com-
petitor. Included in the transaction are saleyard facilities at Hawera, Stratford, Inglewood, Opunake, and the Waverley deer-selling complex. The FCOS wool business is included. Mr Matthews said that in future Taranaki wool through auction will receive the benefit of the arms-length Elders International wool division, which now purchases some 20 per cent of the New Zealand auction clip.
