Q.P.R. for sale?
The London-based football club, Queen’s Park Rangers, is on the brink of being sold, according to a report from the New Zealand Press Association in London. “The Mail on Sunday” reported that Mr Jim Gregory, whose family own more than 80 per cent of the club’s shares, has been holding talks with interested parties.
Mystery bidders are prepared to pay around 5NZ16.92 million, the paper said. Negotiations have lasted for more than two weeks now but the future of the club is believed to be assured. Wimbledon and Crystal Palace, whose names were linked with possible merger talks, are not involved.
