Oil production boost
Vietnam says it will raise crude-oil production to about 280,000 tonnes this year, from 40,000 tonnes in 1986. Voice of Vietnam Radio said the seven-fold increase was agreed during a recent meeting of the VietnamSoviet oil joint venture in the Vung Tau-Con Dao area, about 100 km south of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).—Bangkok.
