Holiday farce
Elmwood Players first production for 1987 is the English farce “Lucky for Some," written by John Dole and directed by Doug Clarke. The play is set in the Sandpiper Holiday Camp — converted from an exarmy camp. Christopher has had the romantic notion to bring his wife, Mary, for a holiday to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Unbeknown to Christopher, Mary has a “special surprise” for him. Adding to the fun is the chance for campers to win an extra week’s holiday free. The staff of the Sandpiper make any resemblance to a holiday camp purely coincidental.
The cast includes Dimitri Gibara, Gillian Lawson, Christine Sibley, John Boyce, Patricia Tobin, Sonja Williams, Steven Murray, Lyle Matchett, Jill Gerrie and Chris Stachurski.
Bookings may be made at the Town Hall or on performance nights at the Playhouse, 559-875. “Lucky for Some” runs from February 25-28 and March 4-7.
