Huskies coming from the Ice
Fourteen huskies from Scott Base in Antarctica will be arriving in Lyttelton today aboard the Greenwave. The huskies will then be taken to Christchurch International Airport where they will be flown to Minnesota, in the United States. The Greenwave is due at the oil wharf at 12.30 p.m., and after bunkering will move to No. 2 East this evening. Another ship from Antarctica, the Finnpolaris, is due in Lyttelton tomorrow, with scientists who have spent the summer working on the Ice. The Greenwave is due to leave for the United States tomorrow, and the Finnpolaris will leave for Italy early next week. ARRIVALS Tarihiko (7 a.m.), 2169, New Plymouth, (NZSAIL).
