■ H * ANDREW COATES Andrew Coates is becoming one of England’s most highly regarded landscape painters. Many of his works have been accepted and hung at the Royal Academy. His list of notable United Kingdom patrons continues to grow and includes at least one ex patriate New Zealander in Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. His London mentor, William Patterson of Patterson Fine Arts, Mayfair, believes the excellence of Andrew’s work is making an impact on discerning British landscape buffs. The artist returns briefly for his first New Zealand exhibition in three years.
