Special cruise by flagship
PA Wellington Auckland will next month be the port of departure for a special luxury cruise, celebrating the P and 0 Group’s 150th anniversary. The Royal Princess, flagship of P and O’s fleet of six cruise ships, will sail from Auckland to London via Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Kobe — and a series of celebratory receptions. The Queen and Prince Philip will be among the guests at the final reception aboard the Royal Princess when she berths at Greenwich, London, at the end of the tour in July.
The anniversary is also to be marked in the Shetland Islands, off the coast of Scotland. There the house in which the founder of P and 0, Arthur Anderson, was bom has been turned into a museum.
