Burglar pleads guilty

The burglary of a city commercial premises, and possession by day of items with intent to commit a burglary were admitted in the District Court yesterday by Graeme Hirst Homer, aged 24, unemployed.

Judge Hobbs remanded him in custody to this Friday for sentence.

Homer originally had elected trial by jury on

the charges, but pleaded guilty to these yesterday. The charges were of breaking and entering the premises of S. R. Marston and Company, Ltd, in Southwark Street, on January 1; and on the same day, with intent to commit a burglary, being found by day with two knives, tinsnips, pliers, rope, a bottle of petrol, and two petrol-soaked rags.

ROBBERY ADMITTED Charges of robbing a man of a pair of basketball boots valued at $49, and assaulting another man on December 27 were admitted by Tembuji Muni Reka Remana Te Whata, aged 19, unemployed (Mr J. S. Halls). He was remanded to this Friday for a probation report and sentence. He originally had elected trial by jury.
