Everton crashes out
NZPA-Reuter London John Fashanu sent Everton to its first English F.A. Cup defeat outside Wembley for four years yesterday and put Wimbledon into the quar-ter-finals for the first time. Fashanu left the Everton captain, Kevin Ratcliffe, bruised and bloodied in a fiercely competitive match in
which Wimbledon emerged as worthy 3-1 winners to end the Goodison club’s dream of a fourth successive Cup final appearance. Fashanu not only drove home thfe crucial second goal, but also won the controversial forty-fourth minute penalty which pulled Wimble* don level after Paul Wilkinson’s fourth minute opener.
