V.S.A. seeks donations

Volunteer Service Abroad, which launched its V.S.A. week yesterday, is trying to raise $150,000 in donations this year to supplement a Government grant. V.S.A. branches throughout New Zealand have organised displays and other activities to highlight their work in New Zealand and overseas. More than 1300 New Zealanders have worked in 24 countries

since V.S.A. was formed in 1962 and a twenty-fifth anniversary function will be held in July. . V.S.A.’s team of seven volunteers in Tanzania is among the 80 skilled volunteers working in 14 Pacific, Asian, and African countries. The director, Mr David Stone, said that V.S.A. also aimed .to increase public awareness of international development issues.
