Customs formally seizes five cars
The Customs Department has formally seized five Japanese cars which private buyers recently imported into Timaru. The second-hand cars were part of a shipment of 22. Eleven were still under investigation, and six had
been released to their owners, the regional collector of customs, Mr Ray Allison, said last evening. Mr Allison said he could make no comment as to why the cars had been seized since the investigation was still being carried out
