Sports competitors make a splash
Burwood Hospital’s outdoor swimming pool was a “life-saver” yesterday for participants in the week-end’s inter-hospital staff sports events.
A spokeswoman for the events said that by the end of yesterday most of the teams taking part had found their way in the heat to the swimming pool for a welcome splash. More than 400 people took part in the wide variety of sports events or went to watch them on the Burwood Hospital grounds, she said.
The teams included a news media team of disc jockeys. The winning team was the combined group from Coronation and Jubilee hospitals.
