Historians and scientists are no closer to solving the mystery of Stonehenge, which is Britain’s foremost ancient monument. For generations it was believed the giant stones were moved from Ireland by Merlin, the legendary master magician. Later, theories suggest that they have origins with an advanced civilisation from another planet. This theory is supported by some who refer to U.F.O. (unidentified flying object) sightings reported in the past 10 years around the Salisbury Plain area where the stones are located. The stone circle is about 4000 years old.
