Chertsey derailment
Northbound Southerner passengers had to finish their journey by bus on Saturday after a goods train derailment near Chertsey. Six waggons of a northbound goods train jumped the rails just south of Chertsey at 4.05 p.m., said a Railways Corporation spokesman last evening. The following South-
enter had to stop at Ashburton and the passengers were taken toe rest of the way by bus. - The spokesman said that the disruption to the Southerner was toe only delay caused by the derailment. There were no injuries, and the line was cleared and declared open again by 3.3 Q p.m. yesterday.
