An armed man told staff at a Richmond chemist’s shop exactly which drugs he wanted before making off with four bottles of pills yesterday.
The man entered Rodger Prebble Pharmacy (above) with a sawnoff double-barrelled shotgun and directed a woman customer to join three women staff and the shop’s owner behind the prescription stand.
He then named the drugs he wanted, said Detective Sergeant Philip Parsons.
The man told the owner to “hurry up” and hand over the pills before making off on foot
A big red motor-cycle was seen leaving near the shop, at the corner of Stanmore Road and North Avon Road, soon after the robbery, but it was unclear whether it was linked to the incident
The man is described as being part-Maori, aged in> his mid-20s, about 185 cm (sft sin) tali, of thin build, with a moustache. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a full-face crash helmet, sunglasses, a black windbreaker, and track suit pants which were tucked into his socks. He was carrying a red cylindrical bag.
