Job Action successful

The response to a Job Action Week run by the employment agency, Alfred Marks Personnel Services, has been exceptionally good, according to the branch manager in Christchurch, Mr Russell Lindsay. About 80 people had sought jobs while employers had offered between 20 and 30 jobs.

A lot of people who sought employment would be placed easily in the normal vacancies available through the service, he said. Consultants interviewed job-seekers in the evening, free of charge. Mr Lindsay said the action week, which ended yesterday, might become an annual event.
