Govt benefit sought
PA Hamilton A Government benefit should be provided to help pay for the accommodation of chronically disabled patients under 65, the Waikato Hospital committee says. The committee recommended at a meeting that the Minister of Health be asked to introduce a hospital special assistance scheme for chronically disabled patients under 65.
A similar scheme is already available for geriatric patients accommodated in private hospital beds. ,
