Certificate of Planning or a Town Planning Diploma and preferably have two or more years experience in administrative statutory planning since gaining the qualification. The appointee will be primarily responsible for the operation of the Otorohanga District Scheme, the Town and Country Planning Act 1977 and the Reserves Act 1977; Including the full processing of notifiable applications, and attendance at hearings and meetings as required by the Chief Engineer. The position is one of sole charge. Otorohanga District is located some 50 kilometres south of Hamilton. Comprising an area of 1976 sq km the District is a diversified farming area with horticulture becoming more in evidence. The Council offices are situated in th& Otorohanga Community which has a population of about 3000. The town has good shopping facilities, two modern primary schools and a college, good medldal facilities and caters for a wide range of sporting activities. The nearest general hospital is at Te Kultl, approximately 20km south of Otorohanga. An approximate commencing salary based on qualifications and experience will be negotiated with the appointee.
