$20,000 for Lincoln ram
PA Invercargill A Lincoln ram, Why Did 19/83, from the Tayles Lincoln Stud, of Riversdale, has been sold for $20,000, a New Zealand record price for a Lincoln.
Sixty mixed-age Lincoln stud ewes averaged $lOOO in the same transaction,
according to Wrightson Dalgety. The purchaser was Mr Kelso Rushton, of Auckland, who recently imported 70 stud Lincoln ewes from Australia. The ram had been bought by the Tayles Stud for $3OOO at the 1985 Canterbury stud ram fair.
