lan Dickison dropped

PA Dunedin The Commonwealth Games gold medallist, lan Dickison, has been omitted from the Dunedin team for the Rothmans inter-centre bowls finals at Auckland. Dickison, skip of the- pairs at the zone contest in Arrowtown last weekend, has been replaced by a former international, Duncan McConnell, of Kaikorai. Stan Seear, the convenor of the provincial selection panel, said Dickison’s omission recognised his present lack of form.

“lan, on his own admission, has not been playing up to his usual form and the selectors decided to give him a rest for this particular match,” Mr Seear said.

Dickison, who left yesterday for the Embassy international indoor singles in Scotland, believed the selectors’ move was justified. “I think the selectors have done the right thing,” he said. “There is so much talent in the Dunedin centre.” Dickison has to adjust to slow greens for the Embassy event and for the test series against Australia at Perth.
