Moresby VACANCIES Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following positions: SENIOR TUTOR/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN EXPRESSIVE ARTS Goroka Teachers College — G618006/87 The Advanced Diploma Unit at Goroka Teachers College requires a teacher educator with a background in two of the following areas — Dance/ Drama, Visual Arts or Music. Experience in teaching Arts in traditional and contemporary settings would be an advantage. The Advanced Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) Programme is an in-service programme designed to upgrade the subject knowledge and professional skills of experienced teachers in Papua New Guinea Provincial High Schools. It is a two (2) year part-time programme involving residential and distance study sessions. The successful applicant will design residential and distance courses, prepare written and audiovisual materials, and will have a small teaching load of Advanced Diploma in Teaching students as well. There may be some teaching duties in the pre-ser-vice Diploma in teaching from time to time. Applicants should have previous experience in the field and in the preparation of distance education materials, for use in a post graduate teacher development programme as well as an advanced degree in their teaching specialisation. Experience in developing countries in ESL programmes would be an advantage. The appointment will commence in April, 1987. A two-year contract will be offered initially with the possibility of renewal for a further period.
