PA Wellington Dr Alan Edmonds, manager of the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust, has been appointed deputy director-general (science and advocacy) of the new Department of Conservation. The State Services Commission said Dr Edmonds had worked on the department’s establishment unit advisory group.
He is a former university lecturer and was president of the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society.
