Tug Purau to arrive
The Lyttelton Harbour Board’s new tug Purau will arrive belatedly in Lyttelton ’’ on Friday. She was scheduled to arr rive in August last year but was damaged on the voyage from Japan. The Purau had to be returned to the builder’s shipyard in Nagasaki for repairs. She underwent sea trials for a second time just before Christmas. The $4.5 million tug will replace the tug Canterbury, which the board will sell. The arrivals ceremony and blessing of the Purau will take place next Wednesday ' afternoon at the tug jetty in Lyttelton Harbour. ARRIVALS Union Endeavour (6 a.m.) ’ 21,895, Auckland (U.M.S.).
