Playbox

Playbox, the Riccarton Players’ holiday theatre for children, will be on stage again later this month. January’s version is based around an incompetent professor who uses a strange machine to invent seven androids. They take turns to tel! stories, sing songs and recite poems about pigs and food. The familiar Three Little Pigs, Green Eggs and Ham and The Musicians of Bremen are retold. The cast includes experienced actors and newcomers. Stephen Murray is the professor and Kerrie Gallagher, Kristine Sibley, Karen Campbell, Bridget Phelan, Stephen Gibson, Ann Whitbrock and Tony Couch are the story-telling androids. The season will run from January 17 to 31.
