Attack on transvestite followed by shooting
Shots were fired at a house in Waltham at the week-end where only hours earlier its occupant, a transvestite, had been beaten and robbed of hormone tablets. The police believed the two incidents were linked and were following strong leads, said Detective Senior-Sergeant Colin Dalzell. The transvestite was hit with a metal bar in the attack, which happened on Saturday evening. She needed 14 stitches
to the head, aad alsc suffered bruises to the body and knee. She was attacked after two men smashed la through the front pl the house in Lancaster Street where she lived. Hormone tablets and other items were taken, said Detective Senior Sergeant Dalzell. Early on Sunday morn* tog, two shots were fired from a shotgun at the front door of the house. A car with three occupants then left the scene.
