Premier lily award to ‘Nepalense’

Mr Bill Brown, the vice-president of the New Zealand Lily Society, with the bloom that won the premier award at the society’s annual show at the Horticultural Hall last weekend. The bloom, “Nepalense,” was exhibited by Mr Glyn Williams, of Christchurch. The species

came from Nepal. More than 500 blooms were on display at the

two-day show which ended last evening. The award for the reserve premier bloom was won by Mrs M. S. Walter, of Amberley, with a bloom that originated in Canada. The premier decorative award went to Mrs D. Burgess, of Christchurch, for an arrangement called “Gold Strike.”
