Two drivers suspended
The Kerrytown horseman, Richard Brosnan, was suspended from last Saturday until January 31 for allegedly starting an incident that caused Smart Willie to fall and Brimstone to lose his driver 100 m from the finish of the United Building Society Pace, at Timaru, on Friday. Brosnan, driving a newcomer to his stable in Mexico; the favourite, which finished fourth then was disqualified, has indicated he will appeal against the dcision and has until Friday to make a second payment for hearings to proceed. » David Moore, the driver of Otapiri Crown in the Bailey Mazda Mobile Pace, was suspended until January 24 for causing interference to Farm Maid with 800 m to run., The second favourite, Sun Lover, was checked and broke in the incident, losing her chance.
