NZPA-AAP Adelaide The medical effect of cod liver and other fish oils could be more than just an old wives’ tale in curing heart conditions, thrombosis and possibly rheumatoid arthritis, researchers say, and they are looking for arthritis sufferers to volunteer to help them prove a link between, the disease and a seafood diet A team of researchers at the Royal Adelaide Hospital say fish oils could have an Important preventative and curing role against some disease, and especially against arthritis. The research is based upon an observation that people who eat mainly fish and fish eating mammals tend to remain free of heart conditions and some inflammatory diseases. The research is being supported by the National Health and Medical Research Council and the Arthritis Foundation of Australia.
