Preacher’s plea seen as too impassioned
NZPA-AFP Dallas A Bible-thumping television preacher has been reprimanded after he told viewers that his life depended on their sending him hundred-dollar notes. The preacher, Oral Roberts, aged 68, said during a religious show that these cash injections would “extend** his life.
“We are at tbe point' K where God could call, Oral Roberts home,” he warned, in an appeal to Texans to stump up SUS4.S million (SBAS million). Mr Roberts has bees'-/ told by the television station to change his , fund-raising style, which it considered “inap-; propriate.”
