Two injured in crash
A two-car collision on State highway 1 near the Clarence Bridge, north of Kaikoura, has left two people in Kaikoura Hospital with moderate injuries. A Ministry of Transport spokesman said that the two cars collided head-on about 4.30 p.m. yesterday, one rolling over after the impact. One man suffered a badly broken leg, and a man from the other car had head and chest injuries. The spokesman said that the southbound car was carrying two Australian tourists. Two Kaikoura people were in the other car.
