Overdue by 80 years
PA Ashburton A book overdue by more than 80 years has been returned to the Ashburton Library. Mr tom Morton came across an 1898 edition of “The Mutineer,” a romance set on Pitcairn Island, while helping to clear a private library in Christchurch. The deputy librarian, Mr Paul Cumming, said he believed the book could be from the initial collection of the library. With the present penalty rate for overdue books being 4«c a week, this would make a fine of Sfaostnm x IF . v?
